Step 1: Prepare the Hair
• Cleanse & condition the client's natural hair.
• Apply a leave-in conditioner or moisturizer to keep the hair hydrated.
• Detangle thoroughly.

Step 2: Cornrow the Base
• Create a cornrow foundation across the entire head.
◦ Most common patterns: straight back, beehive, or side part.
◦ Keep the braids neat and secure.
• If the client has long hair, tuck the ends of the braids securely (sew them down or crochet into other braids).

Step 3: Install the Crochet Hair
1 Insert the crochet hook under the cornrow (latch closed).
2 Attach the loop of the crochet hair onto the hook.
3 Close the latch and pull the hair through to form a loop.
4 Pull the loose ends through the loop (usually 1–3 times depending on security).
5 Tighten the knot gently to secure it.
