A lock of what may be Renaissance genius Leonardo Da Vinci's hair went on display in a museum in Vinci - the 500th anniversary of the legendary artist's death.
The strands of hair were discovered in a private collection in the US three years ago.
Director of Museum Ideale Leonardo Da Vinci Alessandro Viruzzi said it was an exciting find as DNA could be extracted from the relic to shed more light on the life of the Italian master.
The authenticity of the lock of hair, however, has reportedly divided historians and specialists.
