Justice Markandey Katju is not likely to get an extension to his term as the Press Council of India Chairman, say sources.
Sources tell CNN-IBN that the Prime Minister Office (PMO) is not keen on extending Katju's term as the PCI Chairman. The former Supreme Court judge is set to retire in less than three months.
He had recently met Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and expressed his willingness on a second term as the council's chief.
